In his extreme pursuit of becoming a “black alien,” the world’s most modified man has taken one of his most shocking steps yet—surgically removing two fingers to create a claw-like hand. Anthony Loffredo, a 33-year-old from France, has spent more than a decade radically altering his body in an effort to completely redefine his appearance. His modifications include a split tongue, removed nose and ears, extensive tattoos, piercings, dermal implants, and the removal of his upper lip. Despite these drastic changes, Loffredo claims he is only 34 percent complete.
Some of his procedures have carried serious risks. Eyeball tattooing once temporarily impaired his vision, and many surgeries were performed abroad due to strict laws in France. Last year, he traveled to Spain to have his nose surgically removed.
Loffredo documents his transformation on Instagram through his account, The Black Alien Project, which has amassed more than 700,000 followers. After his most recent surgery, he shared an image of his stitched, bloodied hand, now missing two fingers, captioned, “I develop my inner peace.”
Reactions to his transformation are deeply divided. Some followers admire his dedication and courage, while others criticize the project as disturbing or disrespectful.
Despite the controversy, Loffredo remains committed. In a 2017 interview, he said a turning point came while working as a security guard, when he realized he wasn’t living the life he wanted. Since then, his transformation has become his life’s purpose.
